A stunning bed and breakfast in the heart of the Loire Valley. Le Chaton Rouge is in the centre of St Pierre du Lorouër, a small village between Tours and Le Mans. This beautifully renovated 18th century townhouse has 4 bedrooms, and combines classic French style with modern touches.

A continental breakfast is included with your reservation, and upon prior request an evening meal can be prepared and served in the dedicated outdoor dining room. Le Chaton Rouge is a licensed premises so you can enjoy afternoon drinks on the sun loungers, aperitifs on the terrace and a bottle of regional wine with your meal.

When not relaxing within the grounds of Le Chaton Rouge, there is plenty to enjoy including walking and cycling in the scenic countryside, horse riding, and mountain biking through the Forest of Bercé. You can also sunbath and swim at the lake in Marcon, just 10 miles from the house. We are perfectly located for you to explore the nearby villages, towns and cities, and of course the stunning chateaux along the banks of the river Loir and the Le Mans race track with is less than 20 miles away. We can also help to organise for wine and cheese tasting, and falconry experiences upon request .

Breakfast includes freshly homemade bread & jams, with croissants, fresh fruit salad, juice, yogurts & cereals in the guest house's dining room. A selection of tea & fresh coffee is also available.
Parking & Shuttle Service
There is free parking in the village square. We can organise for a shuttle to collect you from Tours airport or Le Mans train station (please contact us for prices)

DINING & EVENTS
Le Chaton Rouge is pleased to be able to offer Table d'Hôtes (evening meal) using local produce: 4 courses for €35 per person. We are a fully licensed premises with a variety of local wines, beers and aperitifs available. ** Reservations for food must be made at least 24 hours in advance, and please notify us of any special dietary requirements.**

THINGS TO DO
A few km's to the south of us are the lovely villages and towns situated along the banks of the River Loir; La Chartre-sur-Loir for example. Wine tasting, brocantes and vide-greniers most weekends (or the keen Treasure Hunters )
It's well worth visiting the bio wine producers of the Maison Rouge, a favourite amongst many local wine producers - although there are lots to recommend - Croisard, (house special) Fresneau & Gigou for example. Wine and Cheese tours can be arranged.
The forest of Bercé is an ideal place for walking, horse-riding, cycling and mountain biking (195 miles of waymarked itineraries). A dappled network of trails. Mushroom picking tours arranged in season, that combines a day foraging and a day cooking!
Only 10 miles away is Lac de Varennes (with a sandy beach, waterslide and lifeguard), great for swimming and water sports, plus a small park for the kids. Ideal for families with young kids.
The Loir and surrounding tributaries offer beautiful fishing & kayaking locations, we can tailor packages and an experienced guide. including permits, rods and equipment and the perfect picnic ....as well as hopefully BBQing the catch of the day.
There is the local market on a Wednesday, where you can buy the most amazing unpasteurised organic goats cheese, along with other fantastic goodies.
